Function Health - is it worth it?

Short answer: sometimes

Good fit: Limited insurance (none, HDHP, HMO) and your doctor won't order broader labs. Cheaper than my cash rate when they're on sale. Broad coverage panel that typically hits my main bases. They ARE better than the copycats (10x Health, etc).

Less good fit: You have a proactive doctor and want to use a decent PPO (non-HDHP) with insurance. You need tests tailored to you or assays outside what Quest (Function's provider) offers.

Neutral: The app tracks trends — so do InsideTracker and others. Their medical advice is interesting but generic, not patient-specific.

Bottom line: Convenient and cost-effective for DIY testing and trend tracking, but limited for actionable guidance or needs outside Quest. Feel free to ask me more.
